 History of Dhaka Zoo

The need for the foundation of the Zoological garden and Botanical Gardens in the recent area of East Pakistan (Bangladesh) was felt at the simple initiation of Pakistan in the year 1947 as there was no such garden in the territory. Film shooting in the Zoo premises:

Rules regulation for film shooting and hire of animals of the zoo 

1.
  Firearms will not be allowed to be carried in the zoo premises without special and prior permission of the zoo authority.
2.
  The entrance of any animals from outside the zoo is strictly prohibited.
3.
  A maximum number of hours for which Zoo animals can be lent on hire will be decided by Zoo authority.
4.
  Fees will have to be paid by the lentee in advance through cash.
5.
  Zoo animal so lent out will be under the custody of Zoo staff.
6.
  Animals may be lent out at the discretion of Zoo authority so that attraction of the zoo and other functioning of the zoo are not affected.
7.
  The prospective lentee will furnish a guarantee at the time of hiring the animals.
8.
  The lentee will also furnish a certificate to the effect that such animals/pictures will not be utilized in connection with any political affairs.
9.
  The lentee will provide feed free of cost as per the direction of Zoo authority during the period of the animal is away from the Zoo.

The offer of zoo animals and others

By and by spotted deer are sold at the cost of Tk. 70,000/ - BDT per creatures and Peafowl per match Tk. 50,000/= in the wake of getting authorization from CCF (Chief Conservator of Forest).
